Ireland (Predators Make Empires)
Limited edition of giclée prints based on the original drawing c.1932
Ireland (Predators Make Empires):
Project for a sculpture. Drawn in 1932 before De Valera became the president of Ireland. He is about to release his arrow, aiming at the head of the invading English octopus, whose belly is filled with pounds of Sterling. (Reproduced from the only existing photograph. The drawing was more than likely destroyed in the bombing of Warsaw in WWII). - Struggle: The Art of Szukalski (2000); pub. by Last Gasp, San Francisco
